“This Little Love of Mine” is an amazing film. How did you prepare for the role of Laura?

A lot of the preparation for a romantic comedy is in the relationship building with your fellow cast. Luckily, I had already met Liam and Lynn when we all lived in Los Angeles, so this part of preparing for the role felt very easy. I also binged a few rom-coms!

What do you love about your character?

I love that Laura is driven and no-nonsense. She knows what she wants and is confident in chasing after it. I also value her passion for helping build communities and supporting those less fortunate.

The connection between Laura and Chip is delicate and strong. What do you make of their relationship?

I love the connection between Laura and Chip. Straight away, Liam and I found their child-like playfulness and history in each other. The fact that they knew each other as children means that when they reconnect, they already have a sense of each other’s inner child and who they are at the core, so all of the pretence of new relationships is taken care of and they feel comfortable to be themselves from the moment they reconnect. I think they both see the good that is possible in the world, and this strengthens their love for each other.

What is the meaning of LOVE, in your opinion?

Love can look like many different things. For me, often love looks like the small gestures… my husband makes me an espresso in bed every morning which is a small way I feel loved every day. I’m not hugely romantic, so I’m not one for big grand gestures. Love is in the small things day to day that make someone feel seen, valued and special.

Is there a film or a television show that made you fall in love with acting?

As a young girl I loved MY GIRL. The innocence of the characters and their curiosity about the world around them felt so special, and I had a soft spot for Thomas J. What a cutie!

How did acting change your life?

Acting has been the most challenging and uplifting part of my life for many years. I often say, that when you land the job as an actor, the work has been done. The hard part of being an actor is the “in between” moments of vying for the next role, but being on set for me is pure joy and I love every moment. I love the family environment that is created amongst a cast and crew, the incredible locations you get to film in, and the freedom that comes from fully transforming into another person’s life. It’s exhilarating!

Do you have people that inspire you?

Strong women figures really inspire me. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is someone I really admire and feel both inspired and grateful for the work she did in her career to elevate the voices and rights of women and people who are less fortunate. Anyone who speaks up despite potential repercussions or backlash is incredibly inspiring to me.

Who’s your favorite director?

I’m not sure if I have a favourite director, but there are certain directors who I would be excited to work with such as Greta Gerwig or Emerald Fennell.

What is your dream role to play?

I’m loving that as I get older I get to play much more complex characters. I love the idea of doing an action film, just to get the opportunity to do stunt work and green screen.

How would you describe Yourself?

I’m outspoken, loyal, upfront and have a big heart.

If you were to sum up the word “Freedom” in one image, what would it be?

Travelling to places that most would be too afraid to go. That’s freedom to me.

Su Netflix arriva il film romantico This little love of mine.

“This Little Love of Mine” è un film delicatamente straordinario.

Amavo MY GIRL.

Come ti descriveresti?
